Data Sanitization

Data sanitisation is the process of permanently and irreversibly removing or destroying the data stored on a memory device. These devices include Built-In and External Hard Drives, USB Flash Drives and other data storage devices. A device that has been sanitised, has no usable residual data and even advanced forensic tools shouldn’t be able to recover the erased data.

Data sanitisation is a service we can provide at Odin E-Waste. There are varying grades of data sanitisation services available. We can erase your data to the following standards (additional fees will apply):

One-Pass-Zero is the standard of Data Destruction. It’s quick and the cheapest option.

US DoD 5220.22-M takes longer to complete. It erases the drive multiple times to confirm that all data is gone.

US DoD 5220.22-M (ECE) takes even longer to complete. It erases the drive even more times than then the previous option to double-down on your data being gone.

Canadian OPS-II, HMG IS5 Baseline and HMG IS5 Enhanced are 3 more options that we can offer on request.
